The range of tasks and responsibilities carried out by a mechtrician covers electrotechnology, mechanics, and control and information technology. Mechtricians often work in the field of mechanical and process plant engineering. They install and fit mechanical-electronic machines, units and systems.They assemble electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components, and install them or connect them to systems and units. They put devices, machines and units into operation and service and maintain them.

We are expecting good secondary school qualifications or a school leaving certificate. The ability to work with your hands, think in abstract terms and an interest in mathematics as well as knowledge of the English language are important. |

Due to rapid developments in the area of technology, ongoing training is a matter of course for the mechtrician. After several years of practical experience, examinations can be taken to become a foreman.
