How to make sure that inks dry well on CHROMOLUX Color, CHROMOLUX Metallic, CHROMOLUX alu and CHROMOLUX Pearl
Unlike the conventional grades, CHROMOLUX papers have an entirely closed surface so that they cannot absorb ink. The binders in the printing ink must dry by oxidation. In the case of the Color grade, only the dark shades are affected. Please ask for more details on specific applications.
Key parameters for good ink drying:
Minimum fountain solution to avoid unfavourable emulsifying of ink and water
Sufficient ink consumption, if necessary by printing colour acceptors on the edge of the sheets
Avoidance of aggressive chemicals in the fountain solution (pH no lower than 5)
Use of special inks that dry exclusively by oxidation
