Bergisch-Gladbach. – ZANDERS has again succeeded in recruiting a prestigious name for its design series entitled "Icons on ikono": the Danish poster artist Gitte Kath.
The director of Denmark's "Mill Theatre" – and winner of numerous international awards – presents her personal icon and the source of her inspiration in the latest ikono brochure, thus providing us with a fascinating insight into the world of her highly emotive and seductive imagery. The booklet about Gitte Kath's work, and detailed information on the project as a whole, can be obtained either from www.ikono.de or directly from ZANDERS.
There will again be a limited edition of the special, pre-mium quality print (80 x 60 cm). The four-colour work has been done on ikono silk ivory. According to Gitte Kath, it should "trans-port the viewer's thoughts far away – whilst keeping at least one secret". Gitte Kath has received a number of international awards for her poster works, including first prize at the world's foremost Poster Biennial, held at Brno in the Czech Republic (1990).
Prominent designers present their icons The following designers have presented their personal icons as part of the "Icons on ikono" design campaign: John Warwicker (Think Tank tomato), Diane Gromala, Zaha Hadid, Ron Arad, Kevin Clarke and Gitte Kath. The project will continue to feature the works of outstanding, internationally renowned artists.
