Bergisch Gladbach. The start of a new year has brought a prestigious addition to the "Icons on ikono" design series: ZANDERS is launching a new, future-oriented project centred on its ikono premium art paper and the featured artist this time is the New York-based photographer Kevin Clarke, who is presenting a number of his famous photographic DNA portraits, his personal icon and the source of his inspiration.

The booklet about Kevin Clarke's works and detailed information about the project can be obtained either from www.ikono.de or directly from ZANDERS. In addition, a limited edition of an 80 x 60 cm high-quality print (four colours including two metallic colours on ikono gloss) has again been produced: Kevin Clarke's personal icon - his photographic DNA portrait of James D. Watson. The winner of the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1962 was the first scientist to succeed in isolating and then decod-ing the double helix structure of DNA.
The photographer Kevin Clarke has made a name for himself in the international art world with his experimental, innovative projects and his photographic DNA portraits. His project entitled "The Red Couch, a Portrait of America" created a major impact in Europe. For this he received the only Double Award in Gold ever presented by the Art Director's Club in Germany. The numerous exhibitions of his DNA portraits continue to be highly acclaimed by both the artistic and scientific communities. In his experimental photographic portraits he integrates the molecular and genetic identity of the individual - an extremely intense process which never fails to fascinate.
Kevin Clarke's contribution to the ZANDERS "Icons on ikono" campaign was preceded by four outstanding design ideas: by John Warwicker (Think Tank tomato), Diane Gromala, Zaha Hadid and Ron Arad. Different qualities of ikono premium art paper are available: ikono gloss, ikono silk, ikono silk ivory and ikono matt.
