ZANDERS group: improved results in the 1st quarter 2002 |

Bergisch Gladbach. Operating profit of ZANDERS group improved to a level of 6.1 m € in the 1st quarter 2002. In comparison, ZANDERS group made an operating loss of minus 2.0 m € in the 4th quarter 2001.

The capacity utilisation rate of ZANDERS was 90 %. The result improvement was caused by increased sales volume (increase by 9 % compared to the 4th quarter 2001), a strict price policy and a consequent fixed costs management. Turnover of ZANDERS group increased in the 1st quarter 2002 compared to the 4th quarter 2001 by 21.2 m € to a level of 141.3 m €. The restructuring program aiming for a reduction of fixed costs and improvement of operational efficiency is progressing according to plan.
